Face Recognition Authentication

Secure & Foolproof!

What is Face Recognition?

Similar to Fingerprint, a user’s face is unique as well. Once again, min Secure leverages native facial scanning capability enabled by a user’s smart device. Once a user configures facial scan on their device and selects it as an MFA method within min Secure registration process, min Secure will follow a similar process as the Fingerprint MFA method. min Secure will send a push notification to the user’s enrolled device and pops up a facial scanning image. If the facial scan is authenticated, the user is then permitted to access the system requested within the enterprise environment. If not, the user is denied access per the enterprise policy.

Face Recognition Authentication FAQ

minSecurity leverages facial scan functionality already available on iOS and Android devices. If a user decides to utilize facial scan as an MFA method and has already activated this feature on their device, minSecurity MFA simply uses the information resident within the device. If the user hasn’t setup this function, it can be initiated from the Settings section of the device, then Facial Scan can be selected as an MFA method. minSecurity will notify the user if the function isn’t already setup and active on their device before Facial Scan can be utilized by MFA.

minSecurity leverages the device function once setup. It is not stored or captured in any way, similar to how other applications may utilize the function for password bypass on the device. minSecurity is never in physical possession of the facial scan data.

From iOS - Face ID uses the TrueDepth camera and machine learning for a secure authentication solution. Face ID data - including mathematical representations of your face - is encrypted and protected with a key available only to the Secure Enclave.
