Min Multi Factor Authentication

An effective multi-factor authentication (MFA) solution helps a business determine the “known” from the “unknown”. In today’s world of remote users who need real-time access to business critical data and systems – a user ID and password alone is not enough and complementing it with Multi Factor Authentication is necessary to create secure entry barrier.

minMFA is a cloud-native, subscription-based authentication service which requires two or more pieces of user unique information to authenticate and be granted access to protected resources like websites and applications. It protects your enterprise from cyber crimes with a 3 step strategy called QuickLaunch. This process incorporates a self-directed enrollment process, secures applications and devices with configurable user groups, and integrating applications. Once complete, administrators can monitor enrollment stats, follow up with enrollment reminders and evaluate users engagement via minSecurity’s dashboard analytics.

Min Multi Factor FAQ

Secure access to critical business systems requires more than a passive permissions methodology. A business needs to distinguish between the “known” and “unknown” not only regarding the user, but also by what means, is it from an approved location and is the user authorized to access the system being requested. All of these elements can be securely, efficiently and cost-effectively setup and managed by minSecurity. This MFA method can be the access element of a larger Zero Trust secure environment without placing inefficient or user-frustrating actions into place.

Actually minSecurity operates on a philosophy of minimal complexity that delivers maximum protection. Simply put, minMFA can be provisioned without the need of an upfront services agreement by your own staff in a short amount of time. Systematic scripts and wizards are used to gather needed information and apply the user-defined security elements. Once setup, minMFA provides tools for sending invitations to enroll and track adherence plus create authorized regional locations for each user as well as their specific access permissions. At the end of the setup, your company will be able to tell the difference between “known” and “unknown” users.

By layering challenges onto a user ID and password request for access into a business’ systems, minMFA increases effectiveness beyond a two-factor system. For instance, a two-factor system which couples an access request with confirmation of a user biometric – like a fingerprint scan – are effective in knowing who is accessing a system. Registering a user’s devices, authorizing specific system and data access plus whether the location of the request is within approved areas further raises security effectiveness. All of this can be achieved by use of minMFA

The beauty of minMFA’s cost-effectiveness and ease of setup allows for use with all user access requests into critical and confidential systems and data. In fact, minMFA could also be applied to customer access into protected systems, as well. If there’s a question about whether MFA is required for a system or group of users, minMFA’s simplified setup process and cost-effective solution will allow a business to make the right security decision.

minMFA recognizes that customers can be employees or actual customers of your business and where secure access is required, provides a solution that is user friendly and intuitive without frustrating your customers. The solution provides a quick biometric challenge when a customer requests access and seamlessly in the background performs tests on the users location, devices and whether the user is authorized to access the system being requested. If any of these tests are failed, access is denied, but ability to contact minMFA customer service is provided for tier one support/resolution.

minMFA identifies and authenticates the following information based on each user request:

i. Upon successful user ID and password submitted which is maintained and managed by the business, minMFA will:

1. Confirm the device making the request is registered to the minMFA solution

2. Request the user interact based on the MFA solution provisioned by the business – for instance – scan a fingerprint and verify or send a code to be entered into a registered device

3. In the background and seamless to the user, verify the request is coming from a location that’s been approved by the business rules configured within minMFA and

4. Also, seamlessly in the background verify that the user is authorized by the business to access the system they’ve requested.

ii. f any of these tests fail, the user is denied access to the system, data or commercial application that’s being protected by minMFA.
